Welcome to Barrowby FC

Thank you for visiting the Barrowby Football Club official website. We are one of the leading junior football clubs in the Grantham and surrounding areas and offer some of the best facilities too.

Barrowby FC is an FA Charter Standard accredited club that has been in existence for a number of years.  The club has held the FA Charter Standard accreditation for the last 5 years and will continue to do so. All our Managers and Coaches have undertaken the required FA training and everyone is CRB/DBS/CRC checked.   The club actively supports the FA Respect campaign and the implementation of the recommendations from the FA Youth Review.

We welcome everyone to Barrowby FC and we will endeavour to get everyone playing football.  The aim of the club is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment to play and watch football regardless of age, gender or ability. For every player a key objective is to create an atmosphere in which all children can learn footballing skills and enjoy themselves in a fun/learning and safe environment.  As a club we are mindful of the number of players we can safely accommodate in each team squad and this may limit the availability of spaces to train and play for Barrowby FC teams.

The club aims to ensure that all players in teams where match results are not published (U7, U8, U9 and U10 from 2014) each receive an equal amount of playing time throughout the season as far as is possible.  For older teams who play in leagues where results are published, by necessity, a more competitive approach is taken.  The number of players signed to each team and therefore eligible to play will take into account a mixture of ability, fitness, availability and conduct.  The ethos of the club is to compete in all matches; however we will not play to win at all costs.  We provide training to develop player’s abilities and as a result our teams are quite successful in the competitions in which they compete. Whilst success is welcomed, we believe that it is important that children enjoy their football regardless of results and would encourage everyone to accept and support this approach.

The club is well known and is respected in all the leagues in which it plays. We have teams in the following age group/categories U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14,  U15, U16, Veteran Men, a Senior Mens team and Senior Mens Reserve team.  We have over 150 junior players and 80 adult players as members of the club.  The players come from not only village of Barrowby but also from Grantham and as far away as Bourne, Colsterworth and Bottesford.

Our teams play in five East Midland’s leagues and play against teams from a wide range of Midlands towns and villages. The club is very proud to have the use of probably the best changing room facilities in the local area and the majority of clubs who visit us are impressed by the facilities in the Barrowby Sports Pavilion.  The club is grateful for the support we receive from Barrowby Parish Council and the Football Association.

Our U6 to U16 teams train each Saturday morning from 09.30 till about 11.00. We have a cafe in the Pavilion where Sarah and her glamorous assistants Vicky and Hazel will make you a great cup of tea or coffee, a bacon or sausage sandwich or the ever popular Barrowby Baguette. There is a selection of sweets to help keep the younger ones amused so you parents can have a bit of peace and quiet.

We look forward to welcoming you to Barrowby FC.
